Bluewater Search Group (“Bluewater,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a relationship-driven executive search firm. We take the privacy of candidates, clients, and site visitors seriously. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

Information We Collect

Information you provide directly

• Name, email address, phone number, and mailing address
• Resume, work history, education, licenses, certifications, and references
• Compensation history and expectations, and job preferences
• Correspondence with us by email, phone, text message, or video call
• Interview notes and evaluations you or we prepare during a search
• Any other information you choose to share with us during a search or client engagement

Information from third parties

• Referrals and introductions from mutual contacts
• Publicly available profiles, including LinkedIn and other professional networks
• Background check providers, when a check is required as part of a search and only with your written consent
• Client-provided information about roles, requirements, and candidate feedback

Information collected automatically on this site

Our website uses minimal technical logging (such as basic server logs) to keep the site running and secure. We do not use behavioral advertising trackers on this site. If we add analytics or other tracking in the future, we will update this policy.

How We Use Information

• Identify and evaluate candidates for open searches
• Present candidates to prospective employers with the candidate’s knowledge
• Communicate with candidates and clients about active searches, opportunities, and market updates
• Provide references, employment verifications, and post-placement support
• Operate, secure, and improve our business and this website
• Meet our legal, regulatory, and contractual obligations

How We Share Information

We share information only as necessary to do the work you have engaged us for or as required by law. Categories of recipients include:

• Clients considering a candidate for a role. We share resumes, summaries, and relevant background with client hiring authorities as part of a search, with the candidate’s knowledge.
• Service providers acting on our behalf. Examples include our applicant tracking system, email and calendar tools, video and phone tools, and background check providers. These providers are contractually restricted to using information only to perform services for Bluewater.
• Professional advisors. Attorneys, accountants, and other advisors bound by confidentiality obligations.
• Legal and safety requirements. When required by law, subpoena, court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Bluewater, our clients, our candidates, or others.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Text Messages

If you provide your mobile phone number to Bluewater, you may receive text messages from us about active searches, scheduling, or follow-up related to work you have engaged us for. Message and data rates may apply. You can opt out of text messages at any time by replying STOP to any message from us, or by contacting us at the address below. Opting out will not affect other ways we communicate with you.

Cookies and Tracking

This website does not currently use advertising cookies or third-party behavioral tracking. Your browser may store limited technical information (such as preferences) to make the site work correctly. If we add analytics or other tracking in the future, we will update this policy and, where required, seek your consent.

Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect the information we hold. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a security incident that affects your information, we will notify you as required by law.

Data Retention

We keep candidate and client information for as long as it is useful for the search relationship and for a reasonable period afterward, so that we can support future opportunities, references, and post-placement follow-up. We may keep information longer where required by law or to resolve disputes.

Your Choices and Rights

You may ask us to:

• Confirm what information we hold about you
• Correct or update inaccurate information
• Delete information we no longer need for a legitimate purpose
• Stop contacting you about opportunities or updates
• Opt out of text messages by replying STOP

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state or national law, including rights available to California residents under the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended by the CPRA).

Children

Our services are not directed to individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

This site may link to third-party websites, such as LinkedIn. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites. Please review their privacy policies before providing them with your information.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the effective date at the top of this page. Material changes will be highlighted at the top of the policy for a reasonable period after they take effect.
